This is a structure contour map constructed upon the Copper Ridge Dolomite and the tops of latterly equivalent lower Cambrian confining units. It was created by computer interpolation (kriging) of borehole data for much of the map extent. In Kentucky, the extensive faulting required that the data be interpolated by hand. The map displays the top of the Trempealeau Formation in Michigan. Within Indiana the unit is the top of the Potosi Dolostone. Within Ohio and Kentucky the map shows the top of the Copper Ridge Dolostone. In eastern West Virginia and western West Virginia the map shows the top of the Concheague Group and the Copper Ridge respectively. In western Pennsylvania the equivalent unit mapped is the top of the Middle Dolomite Member. More detailed mapping of these units is planned for phase II of the project.
Author/Originator: The Geological Surveys of Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia
Date Created: 2005

",
