<idPurp>This data was created to update Clifford’s (1973) maps of Silurian rock salt in Ohio. Formation elevations and halite thickness were determined by geologists using IHS Petra software and hand contoured using ESRI ArcMap. Only the portion of Ohio where the halite is present was studied, The Salina is present across the State.</idPurp>

Unit elevations were picked using geophysical logs. Halite beds within each unit of the Salina were picked using geophysical logs and summed.
