Description:

This is an isopach contour map representing the Knox Dolomite to Lower Silurian Unconformity Interval. The interval was mapped because of its potential function as a major confining interval. This interval is dominated by thick, relatively impermeable carbonates at the bottom and thick shale sequences at the top. It was created by computer interpolation (kriging) of borehole data, with minor manual editing of contour lines near the map edges.

Author/Originator: The Geological Surveys of Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia

Date Created: 2005
